Artwork Story: Inspired by the Green Sea Turtle. This is my first painting of a turtle. It was really fun adding the different layers & colours to the shell. The reference photos I used for this piece were from a turtle I found in a rock pool in Broome at low tide in 2023. The pool was big enough for it to swim around in, but it would have to wait a couple more hours until the tide came back in until it could swim out. So I spent a sunset watching and photographing it as it slowly cruised around the pool feeding on the small bits of reef. It was so calm and relaxed. It was such a beautiful experience and moment to share with it.
