Artwork Story: Inspired by the beautiful Painted Finches. I had been wanting to see this species for a long time and recently found out where they were seen in Broome, so I went to check it out and was lucky enough to come across a decent group of them. Although they were hard to photograph as the light wasn’t great and they were very timid. The images were still good enough to use as reference pictures. It was amazing just to sit and watch them feeding on the grass as they hopped across the colourful rock floor.
Painting is A3 size, completed in June 2024 with acrylic on paper.
